SAMIKSHA - Project Monitoring System

CyberSWIFT has been working with the Public Works Department of West Bengal for monitoring their Infrastructure Development Projects since 2016. The project was implemented by the Principal Secretary of the Department and was named ‘SAMIKSHA’ Project Monitoring System.
‘Samiksha’ has revolutionised the way, Infrastructure Development Projects in the State of West Bengal viz Roads, Buildings & Bridges are being monitored. The project has helped over 5000 users in the department at all levels starting from the Junior Engineer to the Principal Secretary in managing and monitoring their projects effectively. The application has turned into a central nervous system of the organization were starting from administrative approval up to project completion, every step is managed and monitored by ‘Samiksha’. Also, West Bengal Public Works Department has received the prestigious SKOCH Award under the e-Governance Category in the Year 2019 for implementing SAMIKSHA.

The Application has helped the department in:

  • Faster Administrative Approval of Projects.
  • Milestone based project monitoring using geo-tagged photographs and videos.
  • Requisition of funds and demands based on project progress and milestone completion within the application.
  • Faster report generation.
  • Close monitoring of Departmental court cases and arbitrations.
  • One-page dashboard for overall departmental/ individual situation.
  • Mobile App for accessing the application anywhere anytime.

For transforming the monitoring and management system of the Public Works Department, the Government of West Bengal ‘Samiksha’ succeeded in bringing about digitally enabled, real-time and interactive mode of tracking projects. This led to a sea change in the performance of the department and made the department much more responsive, transparent, and performance-oriented.
